Bitter ginger

Bitter ginger, also known as awapuhi, shampoo ginger, lempoyang, and pinecone ginger, is a plant in the ginger family. It is native to India and Southeast Asia, but can be found in many tropical countries. The plant is a perennial herb that grows in humid locations and can reach heights of about 1.2 meters. It has leafy stems and inflorescences that start out green and turn red as they fill with a ginger-scented liquid

Bitter ginger is a source of fiber to stimulate the digestive tract, potassium to balance fluid levels within the body, and vitamin C to strengthen the immune system while reducing inflammation.

Zingiber zerumbet needs at least one inch of water per week and consistently moist soil throughout its growth period. Keep the soil around the rhizomes moist but not too wet. Water the ground around your plants every few days in the morning at dusk or as often as the top inch of soil dries out.
