This is from my personal collection. It was purchased, pre-authenticated, at an auction and the Certificate of Authenticity from the photos will be included. The record itself states it's from 1977 MCA records. It's not in great shape, but ready for framing and display!
A Brief History
Fed up with the travel conditions on the Winter Dance Party Tour, Buddy Holly decided to charter a plane to cover a massive gap between gigs. Between sets of their Clear Lake show, the Big Bopper persuaded Waylon Jennings to give him his spot on the plane. Meanwhile, Ritchie Valens leaned on Allsup to do the same, though he acquired his coveted seat only after getting the stubborn guitarist to agree to a coin toss.
The last time Jennings remembered talking to Holly, the frontman was chiding him for chickening out of the plane ride. "I hope your damn bus freezes up again," Holly said, smiling. Jennings replied with the words that haunted him for years: "Well, I hope your ol' plane crashes."
