Description:A truly remarkable 5 Tael Sycee silver ingot from the late Qing Dynasty (19th century). This rare boat-style ingot features the "Xixi" (double joy) character mark prominently stamped in the center, symbolizing happiness and joy. The boat itself is symbolic of prospertity and good culture traditional for the Chinese.

This ingot has a unique character with its stunning patina, textures, and overall feel. The holes on the bottom side are a testament to its authenticity and age.

History: This piece has a fascinating backstory; it was purchased in Hong Kong in the 1950s by my wife’s grandparents and has only just become available for sale for the first time since they purchased it. Finding comparable examples was challenging, as I only located two 1 Tael 'double joy' Sycee ingots, making this the only 5 Tael Sycee available online that I could find!
