This is a pair of Levi Strauss Engineered Jeans. The model that Kimutaku advertised at the time was made in Japan. The unique color and the way it made your legs look shorter made it a subtle trend, but I personally liked its novelty and remember wearing several pairs. Current models seem to be more streamlined.
This is the original form, and it's a rare American-made pair. Also, the Japanese-made ones were a blend of cotton, polyester, and nylon, but these are 100% cotton. They've been well-worn and have a lot of character.
This is the first time I've seen an American-made pair, and it seems unlikely they'll be available again.
