Double vinyl LP pressing. Lonnie Mack is widely recognized as being major influence on the development of blues/rock guitar playing since his emergence (ahead of the pack) on record in the early 1960s. This album is a fine example of him and the band stretching out with some truly incredible guitar solos. The opening salvo of Camp Washington Chili segues into "If You Have To Know" over the course of ten minutes followed by a six-minute version of "Satisfy Suzie" and then a ten-minute ride rendition of "Stop". After that he joins together his two big hits Memphis and Wham in another eight-minute tour de force. The band leaves the stage leaving Lonnie to deliver a solo performance of "Oreo Cookie Blues" before he is rejoined by bass player Bucky Lindsey for a duet on their song "Tough On Me, Tough On You". The band then returns and reaches it's climax with a blistering extended version of "Cincinnati Jail". Because this show with his band is Lonnie's first official album release since 1991 and although the recording quality is poor by modern standards, it has been authorized by the Lonnie Mack estate as a rare representation of his exceptional guitar soloing in a live performance. His style paved the way for a stellar list of players including Stevie Ray Vaughan, Duanne Allman, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Warren Haynes, Joe Bonamassa, Neil Young, Jimi Hendrix, Danny Gatton and the many others who are noted on Lonnie's Wikipedia entry to have identified him as a significant influence.
