Genuine, antique pure silver Hapsburger double headed eagle bracelet.
I'm not an expert in antiquities, but here is what I know about this piece.
Signed 1000, meaning PURE silver and it acid tested as pure silver.
The double headed eagle is a symbol that has been associated with the concept of empire as long ago as 1600BC.
More recently it was the coat of arms for Austria-Hungary from 1867 until 1918.
In 1992 the Russian federation restored it to their coat of arms.
It is most usually associated as a Russian symbol.
This bracelet is in excellent condition, with its' age related patina but no scratches, dents or dings.
It's 7 1/2" long
The lobster clasp works perfectly.
It is an antique treasure but it's well constructed and sturdy enough to wear everyday.
It's 7 1/4" long and 3/4" high panels.
It weighs 20.3 grams of pure silver.
Very rare, I can't find another one anywhere to compare it with.
